SPHERE™ United Kingdom

Member Protection Centre

Protection is not a page hidden in the footer. It is a standard that guides how SPHERE welcomes, verifies and supports its worldwide community.

Protection with purpose

Dignity, accountability and meaningful control.

SPHERE’s protection commitments apply across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland—and throughout the worldwide platform.

16+

Verified membership

SPHERE is a 16+ community. Verification supports accountability and helps protect the integrity of member accounts.

01

Respectful participation

Harassment, grooming, exploitation, impersonation and threats have no legitimate place in the SPHERE community.

02

Privacy controls

Members should understand who can see their information and have clear choices for public, friends-only and private sharing.

03

Accessible reporting

Concerns should be straightforward to report, reviewed carefully and handled according to their urgency and seriousness.

04

Member control

Blocking, privacy choices and account settings help members manage unwanted contact and shape their experience.

D2

Responsible intelligence

OUDI D2 supports learning and creativity while operating within SPHERE’s safety and community standards.

Our transatlantic standard

Safety should travel with every member.

SPHERE applies one high standard of respect and protection across its worldwide community while providing information tailored to the United Kingdom.

Additional care for ages 16–17

Younger members deserve thoughtful defaults.

SPHERE’s direction is to give members aged 16 and 17 a safer starting experience, clearer privacy information and protection from harmful or exploitative contact.

  • Age-appropriate privacy and audience guidance
  • Clear controls for contact and visibility
  • Strong prohibition of grooming and sexual exploitation
  • Reporting routes designed to be understandable and accessible
  • Support information for parents, families and trusted adults
